Après la cloture des engagements, la Baja Spain-Aragon 2011, 28ème édition puisqu'elle a commencé en 1983, auront des 129 véhicules d’engagés. Le nombre de camion engagé est particulièrement important cette année. Absent l’année dernière pour des raisons de règlement, les géants du raid sont de retour, démontrant l’intérêt. Ils seront 12, chiffre jamais atteint depuis 2005 date d’admission de ces poids-lourd. Et ils seront dans cette catégorie les plus nombreux participants avec le Dakar. Nous remarquerons la présence de David Oliveras, 2 fois champion de la Baja, de Jo Adoua et de Pep Vila, le Dakar man.

En ce qui concerne les voitures, 71, Baja va recevoir l'équipe BMW X-Raid, du russe Leonid Novitski, deuxième l'an dernier ; et le retour de Filipe Campos, troisième en 2009. Toutefois, le plus spectaculaire retour pourrait être Jean Louis Schlesser, pilote français invincible de 1998 à 2002 et qui a remporté la course par quatre fois. En outre, Baja aura une équipe 100 % femme, composée par Marta Súria et Pilar Barceló, dont le but est de se lancer dans des raids pour entrer dans le Dakar. Marta, qui a couru plusieurs années en Clio Cup ou Mini Challenge dans les circuits, affronte un raid pour la première fois de sa vie après quelques représentations en championnat de rallye espagnol cette saison dernière.
Néanmoins, ce n'est pas la première fois la Baja accueille ce genre d'équipe, parce que Begoña Kaibel et Susi Cabal ont été les pionniers dans la Baja Montesblancos en 1983.
Nous pourrons également voir Marc Blazquez (deux fois vainqueur de la Coupe de monde de Baja), Francesc Termens, Manolo Plaza ou Enrique Bonafonte ; qui participe au championnat de Spanish Cross Country Rally.

La liste des engagés en catégorie 2 roues est conduite par Marc Coma, actuel vainqueur du Dakar et aussi de la Baja 2004 et 2008, suivi par Marc Guasch (dernier champion) et Gerard Farrés, qui a aussi 2 victoires à Saragosse. En outre, les jeunes Joan Barreda sera retour pour essayer de se débarrasser des mauvais souvenirs de l'année dernière, quand il a presque remporté le prix et a du abandonner en raison de certains problèmes techniques.
En quads, nous allons voir à nouveau Óscar Romero, vainqueur des deux dernières éditions ; jeune aragonais Mario Gajon et Xavier Montero (Paris Hilton Racing Team) ; des français Maxime et Vincent Albira.
En buggies, l’infatigable Miquel Vila, jeune mais déjà expérimenté dans la Baja, sera confrontée cette fois à Jordi lamas et Miguel Valero. Tous ont un rendez-vous à Saragosse du 22 juillet au 24. Le premier rendez-vous : les vérifications administratives et techniques à Motorland Aragon (Alcañiz).

71 Cars, 32 Bikes, 11 Quads, 12 Trucks And 3 Buggies In The 28th Baja

After closing the entry lists, Baja Spain-Aragon 2011, number 28 since it begun in 1983, will have 129 vehicles in total.

It is especially important the number of trucks that will be performing in the Baja. Absents last year because of the regulations, this time the raids giants are back, demonstrating they are essential. They will be 12, the highest number ever in Baja in this category since they started in 2005; and they make this competition one of the most crowded in trucks together with the Dakar.

It is also remarkable the presence of two times Baja winner David Oliveras, French Jo Adua and Dakar man Pep Vila.

Concerning cars, 71, Baja will receive the BMW X-Raid team, leaded by Russian Leonid Novitskiy, second last year; and the return of Filipe Campos, third in 2009.

However, the most spectacular comeback would be starring Jean Louis Schlesser, French driver who was invincible from 1998 to 2002 and who won the race four times.

Moreover, Baja will have a 100% woman team, composed by Marta Súria and Pilar Barceló, whose goal is to initiate themselves in raids in order to enter the Dakar. Marta, who raced many years in Clio Cup or Mini Challenge in circuits, faces a raid for the first time in her life after some performances in Spanish Rally Championship this last season.

Nevertheless, this is not the first time the Baja welcomes this kind of team, because Begoña Kaibel and Susi Cabal were the pioneers in Baja Montesblancos in 1983.

We will also be able to see Marc Blazquez (two times Baja World Cup winner), Francesc Termens, Manolo Plaza or Enrique Bonafonte; also inside the Spanish Cross Country Rally Championship; as well as the Spanish Gravel Championship contenders, that will celebrate two rallyes at the same time as the Baja.

Entry list in two wheels categories is leaded by Marc Coma, current winner of the Dakar and also 2004 and 2008 Baja winner in bikes; followed by Marc Guasch (last year´s champion) and Gerard Farrés, who also got the victory two times in Zaragoza.

Moreover, the young Joan Barreda will be back to try to get rid of the bad memories of last year, when he almost won the prize, and had to abandon because of some technical problems.

In quads, we will see again Óscar Romero, winner for the two last editions; young aragonese Mario Gajon and Xavier Montero (inside the Paris Hilton Racing Team project); together with French Maxime and Vincent Albira.

In buggies, tireless Miquel Vila, Young but already experienced in Baja, will face this time Jordi Llamas and Miguel Valero.

All of them have an appointment in Zaragoza from July 22nd to 24th. Their first stop: administrative and technical scrutineering in Motorland Aragon (Alcañiz), once again also home of the Super Special Stage.
